Annual Abandoned Crab Trap Clean-up Hosted by CCA Texas

thumbnail.jpgEach year, the Texas crabbing season closes for 10 days to allow for removal of abandoned crab traps from coastal waters. This year, volunteer efforts will take place between February 19 and February 28 with the bulk of organized events planned for February 20. We invite Texas BHA members to join TWPD, CCA and other conservation groups on along the Texas coast in support this statewide effort. Any interested members should contact Judson Brown to see how we can get you involved in the effort.

Volunteers with their own boats can choose a location that works for them. For unboated volunteers that would like to participate, we can work to pair you with another BHA member or other group in your area. To learn more about the abandoned crab trap removal program and efforts in your area, please visit the following links.
