The essence of fall is in the air and termination dust has even made an appearance in some areas. Fall is here in Alaska...Our favorite time of year! This fall, aside from all the hunting and fishing you're (hopefully) doing, we hope to see you at a few of our public lands events across the state.

You’ve seen it, we’ve seen it, everyone sees it–trash in the backcountry from the coast to the alpine. Let’s pack it out! Join Alaska Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for an Alaska Public Lands pack-out September 1-November 30, 2024.
While hunting, fishing, boating and recreating in the backcountry, pack out trash, take a pic, and report the details back to us with estimated weight in pounds, and you’ll be entered to win some rad BHA swag. Grand prizes will go to the weirdest piece of trash and biggest piece of trash found and packed out of the backcountry.

Join the Alaska Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers at Black Spruce Brewing for a discussion on eBird, Merlin, and how to integrate these tools into a hunting season.
We'll be talking about the best birding days in the field and why that is, and how it can fluctuate. Check out AK BHA's blog about how integrating these tools into your hunting seasons can contribute valuable data that supports the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats, supporting more good days in the field.
RSVP to let us know you’re coming!

We all know it. We all love it.
SEALT has been mapping the wetlands for the past decade or more, and they have a lot to share!
If you hunt or fish the wetlands, you're likely familiar with the ongoing changes and have adapted your strategies accordingly. Come learn more about SEALT's mapping project and enjoy a pint of Forbidden Peak's Public Lands Pale Ale - The Camo Ale - and kick off Public Lands Month with us!
Your first beverage is on us—until we reach our max credit—so come early, grab a brew, and find a seat!

ALASKA PUBLIC LANDS UPDATE
The recent denial of the Ambler Road permits by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is a significant win for all of us working to defend the Brooks Range. However, there are already proponents of the road strategizing alternative routes and trying to undermine the BLM's decision.
This moment calls for continued vigilance and action. It's essential for us as Hunters and Anglers for the Brooks Range to stay informed and engaged. By maintaining our collective voice, we can protect these critical wild lands from a risky and unnecessary industrial corridor being forced through.
To stay updated on opportunities to take action and defend the Brooks Range, you can sign up for alerts at huntfishbrooksrange.com/signup.
This ongoing engagement will ensure that we can continue to preserve the wild and remote hunting and fishing grounds we cherish for future generations.
