The Great Lakes AFI Liaison Team is offering a layout boat style waterfowl hunt in Lake Michigan.
Kline Outdoors has been generous enough to offer us his gear and mentorship for this unique Great Lakes experience.
You will need Warm, waterproof clothing, a 12 gauge shotgun with legal waterfowl loads, a Wisconsin Hunting license with applicable waterfowl stamps and endorsements, and not be prone to sea sickness.
If you haven't heard of layout boat hunting:
Brian Kline,
"I'm gonna stick you out in a grey kayak in the middle of the lake surrounded by a hundred or so decoys. You need to tuck in below the waterline and pop up and shoot the passing and decoying sea ducks. Once you've shot a few I will come by in the bog boat and pick you up to rotate out the hunters."
This is primarily an Old Squaw hunt but with the opportunity for scooters if the season and weather are good.
