Sorry for the last minute change. One of the issues plaguing the Pearl River is improper sewage runoff within the city limits of Jackson. Today the MDEQ has reaffirmed their no contact advisory for the Pearl River for the foreseeable future due to this unmitigated sewage runoff. In light of this, we will not be able to host our float trip. Instead, drop your kayak, grab your frame pack, some trash bags, and some gloves. We'll be doing a #hiketohunt and trash cleanup in Lefleur's Bluff Park. We'll still meet at the Pearl River ramp in the Maye's Lake section of the park. We'll pick up the nature trail there, and pick up trash along the way. The trail winds through wooded bluffs, river bottoms, near lakes, and through sloughs and swamplands. There are several side trails that will allow us to see everything the Pearl River has to offer. Bring your gloves, trash bags, and a sense of adventure, and help us clean up the trails inside the park. We have a pavillion rented for after the hike so that we can fire up the grill and enjoy a few burgers and anything you'd like to cook.
