We are extremely excited to have him out to learn more about the in’s and outs of kayak fishing the Texas coast. You don’t want to miss this one! So come on out, bring your friends and family, enjoy some delicious food and beer, and let’s talk kayak fishing!About CaryI grew up living the outdoor lifestyle and still do to this day.  I was fishing from a very young age with my dad, then graduating to dove hunting when I was old enough.  Whitetail hunting started for me when I was in middle school and by high school I was bow hunting.  Hunting and fishing totally consumed me and my mother once said if it did not have fins or feathers I was not interested in it.  5 days after graduating Rockdale High School I was in Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego.  I was stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  I found opportunities there to bow hunt feral pigs, feral goat and axis deer.  I also fell in love with scuba diving there.  After my 4 years in the Marines I returned home and began working as a police officer for the City of Bryan in 1991.  In 2008 I took an early retirement and went to Abu Dhabi, UAE to teach for Texas A&M.  I did get some fishing in while I was there too.  I returned home in 2011 and went back to work for the Bryan Police Department, where I currently assigned as a day shift patrol sergeant. In 2019 I came up with the idea of doing a saltwater kayak fishing podcast.  I had been saltwater kayak fishing for about 3 years and I could not find a “good” saltwater kayak podcast to listen too.  3 years later it has grown more than I could have ever expected.  From my love of teaching, fishing and just wanting to help anglers catch more fish from a kayak, I have meet so many great friends!Be sure to check out his Instatgram - thesaltyyakAnd his podcast - https://thesaltyyakpodcast.libsyn.com

About Cary

I grew up living the outdoor lifestyle and still do to this day.

From my love of teaching, fishing and just wanting to help anglers catch more fish from a kayak, I have meet so many great friends!
