Join Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for our third annual Introduction to Fly Fishing weekend. This year, we will be hosting our event at Little Pine State Park. The cost for this event covers 2 nights of camping, 4 prepared meals, snacks, and beverages. All fishing tackle and equipment is provided, and we will be fishing on Little Pine Creek, one of the top-rated trout streams in Pennsylvania! Topics include:
- Gear rundown, getting started, and required equipment
- Casting instruction
- Reading water and feature identification
- Understanding trout habitat and behavior
- Fly tying demonstration
- On the water instruction
This event continues to get better and better each year. In addition to the great fishing and instruction, one of the best part of the event is our classic “River Dinner” with meals prepared over the campfire while swapping stories in celebration of our treasured public lands!
This is an entry-level instructional course, but all levels of experience are welcome!
