Welcome to our 2nd Annual North Carolina BHA Round Up! This event is meant as the one time of year we get together with no other motive than to meet our members from across the State. The event will take place from March 28th at 4pm - March 30th at 10:00am at the Badin Lake Group Campsite. We have rented the ENTIRE group campsite this year and you are encouraged to bring your entire family. Kids and Dogs are welcome!! The campsite is broken into three camping areas, with a large green space in the middle. The campground rests in the heart of the Uwharrie National Forest and is nearby to Badin Lake. The event will include various classes put on by board members, a chili cook off, and the night capped off with campfire stories.

March 28th
- 4:00pm - Arrival 7:30pm - Welcome!
March 29th
- 8:30am - Group Breakfast
- 10:00am Catfish Jug Making Class with Zach Brady
- 11:00am Basic Field First Aid with Hunter Owen
- 12:00pm Lunch
- 1:00pm Introduction to Bird Identification with Jamie Cameron
- 2:00pm Primitive Fire Making Class
- 3:00pm Free Time
- 6:00pm Begin Chili Cook Off Judging
- 6:30pm Chili Cook Off Results
- 8:00pm Campfire Stories
- 9:00pm Campfire Stories After Dark (We'd be fools to think this will stay kid friendly into the night)
March 30th
- 10:00am - Checkout

ITEMS TO BRING
- All necessary camping equipment.
- Chairs for your family to sit around the fire.
- Food for the weekend. The only meal that will be provided is the breakfast Saturday.
- Fishing Equipment if desired.
- Hiking Gear if desired.
- Items to participate in the Chili Cook off.
CAMPERS and RVS
Campers and RVS can be brought to this event but please note the site is not large with tight turn arounds. There are also no hook ups available.
CHILI COOKOFF INFO
- The chili can be a red or a white, and contain any ingredients of your choosing. Please be prepared to provide ingredients upon request, specifically noting common allergens or religion restricted ingredients.
- Sample bowls and spoons will be provided.
CATFISH JUG LINE CLASS
If you would like to participate in the Catfish Jug Line class please bring the following. This can all be purchased at Walmart or Lowes/Home Depot. Please note you are welcome to attend without materials, but materials will not be provided.
- Pool Noodle or Foam Pipe Insulation
- Wooden Dowel (Rod) with an outside diameter similar to the inside diameter of the Pool Noodle.
- Metal Eye Hook with Wood Screw Base (used on picture frames primarily)
- 2/0 Circle Fishing Hook or similar sized Treble Hook
- 2oz Triangular Fishing weight
- 30lb Monofilament Fishing Line
- Chicken Livers or Hot Dogs (if you want to fish)
BIRD WATCHING CLASS
If you wish to participate in the Bird Watching Class you will need to bring binoculars and hiking boots/shoes.
