Join the Pennsylvania Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for our second annual Introduction to Fly Fishing weekend. This year, we will be hosting this event at Ole Bull State Park in beautiful Potter County. The cost for this event covers 2 nights of camping, 4 prepared meals, snacks, and beverages. All fishing tackle equipment is provided, and we will be fishing on Kettle Creek, one of the top-rated trout streams in Pennsylvania!
This year promises to be an even better event than we had last year. We’ll swap stories and enjoy our soon-to-be famous “River Dinner” over the campfire and share in a celebration of our treasured public lands!
Topics include:
- Gear rundown, getting started, and required equipment
- Casting instruction
- Reading water and feature identification
- Understanding trout habitat and behavior
- On the water instruction
This is an entry-level instructional course, but all levels of experience are welcome.
- Space is limited, first 15 registrants are guaranteed a camp spot.
- Camping gear can be provided upon request.
- Minimum age 12 for instructional course, but families are welcome!
- Free for ages 12-16 with adult registration and supervision.
