This Earth Day we want to give back to our favorite places! It's time again to pull some bad fence from the iconic Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge! This rugged country holds some of the world’s biggest rams, biggest bulls, antelope, waterfowl and sage grouse, not to mention tons of other wildlife and recreation opportunities. So, grab your gloves and let’s make it even better for wildlife.
Volunteer work will take place on Saturday, April 22, but we encourage you to stay Sunday to fish and hunt turkey. We'll meet at 7:00am on Saturday at the James Kipp Campground and carpool to the Refuge from there. Please bring good boots, gloves and dress appropriately for the fickle Montana spring. Volunteers should expect to bring their own food and water. BHA is thankful for the support of our partners Sitka Gear in improving wildlife migration corridors in Montana.
NOTE: this project is highly dependent on good weather because of eastern Montana’s famous “gumbo” roads and soil. So if it rains or snows, we will likely be forced to cancel. Keep a close eye on communications to verify the trip is not canceled.
