2022 Indiana Chapter Rendezvous

Wow! The 2nd Annual Indiana Rendezvous wrapped up this past weekend and we can say that it was awesome! Numerous folks from across the state joined together at the Glendale FWA for a weekend of conservation topics, great food, and downright fun! The weather was perfect and the fire was bright!

On Saturday morning several folks enjoyed the public lands and pursued either squirrel or doves and although the bag was empty, they had a great time enjoying the sunrise and the well managed facility. We followed up with our Public Lands Packout event where were picked up over 20 bags of litter around the facility. We were then joined by two DNR professionals, the IN Deer Biologist Joe Cauldwell and the IN R3 Coordinator Cindy Stites. Both of them gave superb presentations over their topics and educated the audience with their enthusiastic delivery! It's great to know that we have two outstanding professional working hard to create mindful conservation efforts within Indiana.

An friendly archery competition soon took place and several folks competed for some cool prizes and bragging rights for a year! This was followed by two members battling for the Field to Table event! Porcupine was on the menu with one recipe and another included antelope heart and squirrels! Wow, neither disappointed and it was consumed in record time! We then had two dedicated members grill up some hamburgers and brats to make certain that every had their tanks full as we dove into some awesome raffle prizes! A huge shoutout to some National BHA Sponsors for providing great prizes; Savage Arms, Fishpond, Worksharp Tools, Yeti Coolers, and our IN state partner Sportsmans Warehouse - Greenwood for awesome prizes and grab bags that went to several lucky winners.

Saturday evening was nothing short of education and certainly entertaining. We had a deep discussion about the lack of available funding or our Indiana DNR and how there are great committees formed to come up with sound revenue concepts to mitigate this issue and how we can HELP! We know it's extremely important to have these conversations with our elected officials and tell them to support funding Indiana DNR... PHONE CALLs and emails! Event discussions took place and how the IN Chapter wants to tackle the 2023 year! Definitely some great ideas floating around so stay tuned for some amazing events coming up!

Then the rain came and everyone departed pretty quick on Sunday! However, it was a fantastic weekend and the essence of exactly what a BHA event should entail! Everyone walked away feeling fulfilled yet invigorated to continue the great work of conservation!

More events to come so and get ready for the 2023 Indiana BHA Chapter Rendezvous b/c you won't want to miss it!

And a big thanks to West Boggs Park for sponsoring the camping at the event!
