Washington Chapter Opposes SB 5613

WA PUBLIC LANDOWNERS

There's a bill (SB 5613) raising its ugly head again in Olympia that would cut off access to our public waters and set a dangerous precedent for prime fishing, waterfowl hunting and boating areas.

TAKE ACTION

Go to https://www.backcountryhunters.org/take_action#/75 ASAP to be sure state senators and reps know sportsmen and women oppose SB 5613.

This is not the first attempt to change Washington’s stream access laws; a 2018 bill included the exact same language. BHA stepped up to protect public access then, and we are likewise committed to defending Washington’s sportsmen and women today.

S.B. 5613 would create a dangerous loophole for private landowners to revoke access to public waters. This legislation would also complicate or prevent the future establishment of public points of access. Let your legislators know that you stand against any legislation that restricts public access!
