the least money, but soulful objects of art.
Hand made in Norway, Helle blades are forged of
triple-laminate stainless, with a 59 Rockwell core and

razor's edge tenaciously, is easily honed, and uniquely
handsome in a litany of designs. Helle handles are
handmade of wood, leather, and/or reindeer antler. Dark
Timber also offers kits and naked blades, at even
greater savings. Check 'em out. And as with all of our

this hunting unit; "The Hermosa Roadless Area" (150,000

Colorado elk hunt where all gear and supplies have to be
packed by horse to the base camp. All travel is done by
horseback and foot. This elk hunt is for the physically

Overview:
Since 1989 Traditional Bowhunter Magazine has been at
the forefront of the resurgence of bowhunting the way it
was meant to be. The late Howard Hill entitled his book,
Hunting the Hard Way, and we here at Traditional
Bowhunter still espouse the notion that hunting should
not be easy. The quarry deserves the utmost respect and
the chase must be fair and honorable. The results are
secondary to the process and those of us who choose the
hard way are rewarded exponentially.
Traditional Bowhunter
Magazine is the only outdoor publication that has taken
a public stance against the abuse of ATVs and will not
allow ATV advertisements or advertisements that contain
ATVs.
If you believe as we do,
check out our latest issue at your local newsstand or
contact us.
"Progress does not
necessarily mean letting go of tradition." |

Trout Unlimited-Public Lands Initiative

|
Overview:
With over 160,000 members nation-wide, Trout Unlimited
is the oldest and largest cold-water fisheries
conservation group in the world. TUs mission is to
protect and restore coldwater fisheries and the
watersheds upon which they depend. Since most
functioning watersheds are found on higher-elevation
public lands and overlap prime wildlife habitat, TU
recently launched its Public Lands Initiative (PLI) to
reach out to hunters as well as anglers to support
public lands fish and wildlife habitat and traditional
hunting and angling throughout the American West.
The Public Lands Initiative
has established field programs to address three major
concerns for the long-term health of fish and wildlife
habitat on public lands:
- Restoring lands
degraded by abandoned hard-rock mines
- Monitoring and
managing oil, gas, and coal-bed methane development
in the Interior West
- Backcountry-roadless
protection
